ROOTS BJJ Winter Cup Results

NSWBJJF Winter Cup August 2024

The ROOTS BJJ squad crushed it at the NSWBJJ Federation Winter Cup on Sunday, 18 August. We snagged 2nd place overall in the adults' gi and locked in 4th for the kids. The team came home stacked with gold, silver, and a handful of bronze medals – a killer day on the mats!

NEW Black Belts in the Gym

Ryan, Paulo, and Tatu at ROOTS BJJ Northern Beaches

We have had two new Brazilian black-belts join our team from south Brazil. Rogerio "Tatu" Taborda is a 5th degree black-belt and Ryan Ortiz is a new black belt competitor. Tatu and Ryan both have years of experience in training and competing.

Pan-pacific 2024 

Our squad is gearing up for the Pan-Pacific Games in Melbourne on 27-28 October, the biggest IBJJF event in Oceania and one of the top five Grand Slam tournaments worldwide. It ranks alongside the Pan American, Asian, European, and World Championships – this is going to be huge!
